Fifty-six migrants intercepted off Cabo Cope coast

Spanish authorities have intercepted a boat carrying fifty-six migrants off the coast of Cabo Cope, near the town of Águilas. The Guardia Civil’s Maritime Service located the vessel at around 1 p.m. on Wednesday after it had crossed from the Algerian coast. Plans approved for new desalination plants in Águilas and Torrevieja

Alicante-Elche Airport records nearly twenty million passengers in record-breaking year

Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport has finished 2025 with almost 20 million passengers, marking the busiest year in its history. The Socialist Party in Torrevieja has submitted a motion to the Town Hall calling for the urgent rehabilitation of municipal properties, better protection of historic buildings, and a gradual reduction in spending on rented offices.
