Spanish National Police have arrested a man accused of shooting another man in the leg in the San Antón district of Cartagena. Investigators believe the incident followed an argument over the return of a vehicle that had been lent to the victim.
Police were alerted on Sunday the fourth of January at around eight in the evening, after reports of an injured man at the scene. Officers attended alongside emergency medical services, who treated the victim before transferring him to a hospital in Cartagena.
The alleged shooter initially escaped and could not be located at the time. Following an investigation and a search operation, officers identified a suspect and arrested him two days later.
The detainee has been brought before a judge, who has ordered that he be held in provisional custody while the investigation continues.
