A forest fire which broke out on Wednesday night in the Lagunas de La Mata and Torrevieja Natural Park has been brought under control after a major emergency response. A vehicle has been completely destroyed by a fire on the RM-19 motorway, also known as the Mar Menor dual carriageway. The incident happened at around 8.50am on Tuesday near the Murcia district of Baños y Mendigo. According to sources from Murcia Fire Brigade, the car caught fire while travelling along the route. San Pedro del Pinatar has added a new three-seater buggy to reinforce Local Police patrols along the coastline. The vehicle was presented on Wednesday by the mayor, Pedro Javier Sánchez, and the councillor for Local Police, Pedro Antonio Vivancos.
