Firefighters from the Provincial Consortium of Alicante have rescued a cyclist who was injured in a hard‑to‑reach part of Guardamar del Segura. The incident happened on Camino del Dos, where the cyclist fell while attempting to cross a water canal. Emergency services reported that the rider showed signs of a possible hip fracture.

The accident was reported at 10:55, and the operation concluded at 12:55. Due to the difficult terrain, an ambulance could not access the location, making it necessary for fire crews to reach the casualty on foot and carry out a land‑based rescue.

A total of eight firefighters took part, including a sergeant, a corporal and six crew members from the Almoradí and Torrevieja stations. They were deployed using a Command Unit, a Heavy Rural Pump and a Multi‑rescue Van.

Authorities confirmed that at least one person was injured in the incident, and the cyclist was transferred for further medical assessment after being brought to safety.
