Residents in Los Alcázares gathered in the Plaza Manuel Floreal Menárguez on Sunday to enjoy a slice of the traditional Roscón de Reyes, helping raise 1,400 euros for the local branch of Cáritas. Despite the unusually cold weather, the event drew a strong turnout as people came together to celebrate the arrival of the Three Kings.
Hidden inside the large cake were prizes worth a total of 1,000 euros, made up of vouchers to be used in local shops. Organisers say the initiative not only supported the charity but also encouraged residents to spend locally and back small businesses in the town.
Each portion of cake was sold for three euros and was served with a cup of hot chocolate, adding to the festive spirit. The event has become a popular annual tradition in Los Alcázares, marking the end of the Christmas season while raising funds for a good cause.
