Catral Council is carrying out a programme of improvement works at the Local Police headquarters, aimed at modernising the facilities and strengthening the services offered to residents. The project includes a redesigned citizen service area, with more accessible and functional spaces intended to enhance day‑to‑day support for the public.

A new room is also being created for CECOPAL, the municipal emergency coordination centre. The council says this space will improve the town’s ability to respond effectively to risks and emergency situations by bringing together key decision‑making functions in one location. In addition, a dedicated training and operational planning room is being set up to support continuous professional development for officers.

The renovation works also involve reorganising offices and internal spaces to improve efficiency and streamline daily operations. The Local Police of Catral was recently recognised with a Public Commendation awarded by the regional Department of Emergencies and Interior.

Mayor Joaquín Lucas has visited the headquarters to assess progress and highlighted that the improvements strengthen Catral’s status as a reference point for police services in the region. The council says the works show its commitment to public safety and the ongoing improvement of municipal services for local residents.
