Torrevieja has started 2026 with 110,500 registered inhabitants, an annual increase of 4,150 compared with the beginning of 2025. The latest municipal census confirms the city’s steady demographic growth and its position as one of the main population centres in the Valencian Community. The population is almost evenly split by gender, with 54,548 men and 55,952 women.

Both Spanish and international populations have increased, although most of the growth comes from abroad. The number of Spanish residents has risen by 335 to 51,295, while the international population has grown by 3,815 to 59,205. Ukraine remains the largest foreign community, increasing to 10,074 residents. Other sizeable groups include Russians, Colombians, Britons and Moroccans, alongside established communities from northern and central Europe.

Latin American communities also show sustained growth, with notable rises among residents from Brazil, Argentina and Venezuela. Asian and sub-Saharan African populations continue to grow steadily, led by China, Senegal and Nigeria. Overall, Torrevieja now has residents from 123 countries across five continents.

The city’s population pyramid reflects a balanced structure, with a strong share of people aged 30 to 69 and more than 31,800 residents under 30. Longevity remains high, with almost 6,000 residents aged 80 or over. The council says the figures highlight Torrevieja’s demographic strength and underline the importance of long-term planning to support social cohesion and sustainable growth.
