Police in San Javier have confirmed that a man was detained on Monday evening following disturbances at a pharmacy and later in a nearby park in Santiago de la Ribera. Staff at the pharmacy on Avenida Balsicas raised the alarm after two individuals reportedly became aggressive and insulted a member of staff.

Officers attended the scene at around 8pm and intervened to restore order. One man was taken into custody without further incident. The second individual left the area before police arrived.

According to local authorities, no serious injuries were recorded during the incident, and the shop assistant did not require medical treatment. Police have taken statements from witnesses and are reviewing CCTV from the surrounding area.

Investigators say they are working to establish the circumstances leading up to the disturbance and whether any further action will be taken. The council has reminded residents to report any similar behaviour promptly to ensure a swift response.
