The Ayuntamiento of Torrevieja has officially approved the naming of sixteen streets in the new La Hoya urbanisation. This initiative aims to honour local figures, primarily from Torrevieja, including Canónigo Antonio Pamies Andreu and Don Vicente Castell Ibáñez, a respected merchant and former mayor of the early twentieth century.

The street names largely stem from community proposals and previous approvals, with nine names relating to a decree from November two thousand fourteen that was never implemented. Among these is Avenida Almirante Blas de Lezo and Avenida Reverendo Francisco Sarrió Payá.

In addition to historic figures, some names reflect personal connections to the urbanisation project, such as Doña Joaquina Lorente, the wife of TM Grupo Inmobiliario founder, José Luis Serna. TM Grupo Inmobiliario is overseeing this sector’s development, which is projected to include seven thousand four hundred residences.

As Torrevieja grows, these new streets will not only provide a sense of identity but also celebrate the city’s rich history and its notable figures, marking a significant step in the expansion of the community’s infrastructure.
