The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, has confirmed that the town’s new leisure complex is now expected to open at Easter 2026. He announced the revised timetable during a visit to the site alongside the recently appointed president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Juanfran Pérez Llorca. The mayor said that although construction has continued throughout the year, a significant amount of work still remains before completion.

The project had initially aimed for a summer 2025 opening, with earlier targets suggesting the works would finish before the end of this year. However, officials acknowledged that the scale of the development has required revised planning. The opening will cover both the leisure centre and the municipal areas, including the new seafront promenade.

The underground car park serving the complex has already been in operation for more than six months. It offers 640 spaces, including 18 with electric chargers and 20 reserved for people with reduced mobility, two of which also include chargers. Seven pedestrian access points and an operational lift are in place, with two more access routes and four additional lifts due to be added.

President Pérez Llorca highlighted the more than 100 million euro investment as an example of sustainable urban development and effective public‑private collaboration. He emphasised that the scheme strengthens the link between the port and the town and aligns with a wider regional strategy to modernise ports across the Valencian Community.
