A Dutch woman in her fifties has been arrested in Torrevieja after a series of knife attacks on Tuesday evening. Police say she first entered a bar in the Rocío del Mar area, where she shouted while holding two kitchen knives and threatened a customer for her mobile phone. Witnesses reported that she then left the premises carrying two knives and the stolen phone, which was later recovered.

The woman then walked towards a nearby restaurant zone, around 350 metres from the first incident. On the way, she allegedly stabbed a Correos employee in the forearm. She then entered a Chinese restaurant called Yoku, where she sat briefly before standing up and shouting, again armed with knives. A customer was injured on the hand, and a 38‑year‑old waiter was stabbed in the side and taken to Torrevieja University Hospital, where he remains awaiting surgery.

Local police from Orihuela and Torrevieja arrived quickly and managed to restrain the woman before arresting her on suspicion of causing injuries with a bladed weapon. According to police sources, she appeared to be highly agitated and possibly under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of her arrest.

Emergency services confirmed that three men aged 38, 45 and 51 were treated for stab wounds. Two of them were discharged after receiving care in A&E, while the youngest remains in hospital. The Guardia Civil has taken charge of the case, and the local judicial police team in Torrevieja is continuing the investigation.
