Local police in Elche have arrested a man suspected of carrying out a violent robbery against an elderly man on Diagonal Street. Officers say the intervention was made possible thanks to both their rapid response and the decisive actions of a young woman who witnessed the incident.
According to police, the witness not only assisted the victim but also kept officers informed by phone as she followed the suspect on her scooter. Her updates enabled a nearby patrol to locate the man quickly.
When officers arrived, the suspect reportedly attempted to run and offered strong resistance. He was eventually restrained without serious injury. After being detained, the man was taken to a health centre for a routine medical check before being placed in police custody.
