Torre Pacheco has officially launched the nineteenth Media Marathon, which will decide the regional individual championship. Organisers have confirmed a €200 prize for the first man to run under 1:08:00 and the first woman to go below 1:19:53, adding extra competition to one of the area’s most popular road races.

The event will take place on Sunday from 10.00, and will again be hosted by the athletics club Los Moraos. Alongside the half marathon, runners can take part in the twelfth 11K and the second 5K saludable, offering options for a wide range of abilities.

As in previous years, entrants will receive a well‑stocked runner’s pack, including a Joma garment. After the races, participants and supporters will be offered traditional local snacks, including regional cured meats and a large paella prepared for the occasion.

Organisers say the event is expected to attract strong participation, continuing Torre Pacheco’s reputation for staging a festive and welcoming day of sport.
