Agamed has started construction of a new floodable park in the Aguas Nuevas area of Torrevieja. It will be the third of its kind in the town and forms part of the municipal Stormwater Master Plan. The site sits between the avenues of Cortes Valencianas and La Mancha and the streets Sancho Panza and Dulcinea, opposite the Adiem Foundation’s premises.

The first phase has a budget of more than 1.2 million euros and an estimated completion period of nine months. It aims to manage up to 2,000 m³ of rainwater through a system of connected retention areas designed to work by gravity. Alongside its drainage role, the park will provide new public space with sports and leisure facilities, including a skatepark constructed with prefabricated concrete elements.

Plans also include a large naturalised green zone featuring 1,500 m² of rain gardens, permeable surfaces, and native planting to support biodiversity. Existing trees will be preserved and joined by new specimens, while more than 2,100 shrubs and aromatic plants will be added. A green acoustic barrier will be installed along Calle Sancho Panza.

A future second phase, now in planning, will extend the project towards Avenida del Sur. It is expected to add more recreational areas, including children’s play equipment and exercise zones, further enhancing the multifunctional character of the development.
