On the twenty-first of May, two thousand twenty-five, the La Manga Business and Traders Association, comprising over two hundred members, voiced their frustrations regarding the management of beach bar permits by the Coastal Department. The group, led by President José Espinosa, highlighted a severe lack of planning in the permitting process.

Espinosa stated that the delay should have been addressed much earlier, noting that the absence of timely action from the local council and the Coastal Department has created significant challenges for local businesses. The association’s members are now left questioning where the obstacles lie in the process.
