La Guardia Civil has discovered the body of a man in a well in Cartagena, confirming reports from the police. Investigators are currently working to establish if the deceased is a La Unión resident who had been missing for several days. This individual was being sought in connection with allegations of assault against his ex-partner.

The search began after family members reported the man’s disappearance, prompting authorities to deploy a significant operation involving Security Citizen patrols. Helicopters and drones were also employed to locate him effectively within the mining areas surrounding the Sierra Minera and El Llano del Beal region.

The search intensified following the discovery of the missing man’s vehicle near a site known for numerous deep wells. As a result, the group for underwater activities, known as GEAS, was called in to assist in the recovery efforts.

This case is particularly concerning due to the prior allegations of domestic violence against the man, classified by authorities as a high-risk situation. The investigation continues as officials seek to gather more information regarding the circumstances leading to the incident.
