Seven people have been arrested in Elche after National Police officers and Customs Surveillance officials from the Tax Agency dismantled a suspected drug trafficking organisation. Spain’s Directorate-General for Traffic has launched the second phase of its Easter special operation, which runs until midnight on 6 April. Anti-jellyfish nets to return to five Mar Menor beaches this summer

Anti-jellyfish nets will be installed at five beaches around the Mar Menor from June to September. Alicante records more than 10,800 gender violence complaints in 2025

Alicante recorded 10,851 complaints of gender-based violence in 2025, involving 10,230 victims, according to the annual judicial report.
