Local Police have arrested a man in Santiago de la Ribera, in the municipality of San Javier, after he allegedly threatened several motorists and caused a public disturbance.
Officers acted last Friday following complaints from drivers who said the man had demanded money from them. According to reports, he warned that he would damage their parked cars if they refused to pay.
Police said the suspect also threatened neighbours in the area and threw objects at a nearby building during the incident.
Authorities have confirmed that the man was also subject to a judicial order for search, arrest and court appearance issued by a court in AlmerÃa. He remains at the disposal of the relevant judicial authorities.
