Gang uses ram-raid to target Cartagena shopping centre store

A gang of up to seven people has ransacked a Cash Converters store in Cartagena during a ram-raid in the early hours of Tuesday. The masked suspects, armed with axes and sledgehammers, targeted the shop at the Espacio Mediterráneo shopping centre. Two men seriously injured in Torrevieja stabbing

Two men are in hospital with serious injuries after a stabbing during a fight in Torrevieja, Alicante province. The Guardia Civil said it received reports of the incident at around 11am on Monday. Both men, aged 57 and 61, suffered knife wounds and were taken to Torrevieja Hospital. One of them went into cardiorespiratory arrest and had to be resuscitated by emergency crews at the scene. Helicopter deployed to tackle wildfire near Catral motorway

Firefighters have extinguished a wildfire that broke out in Catral, close to the motorway, on Tuesday at 3.17pm. The blaze started in reed beds at Camino de la Arroba de Hornos, 71, near several villas. Due to the speed at which the flames spread, the Provincial Fire Consortium deployed a helicopter, four crews from Crevillent and Almoradí fire stations, and two forest firefighting units.
