Torrevieja council has presented plans for the new Alto de la Casilla urban park, which is set to become one of the municipality’s flagship green spaces. The park will cover more than 30,000 square metres and is designed as an open, accessible area closely linked to the surrounding landscape.

The project includes picnic areas, two large themed children’s play zones, a panoramic viewpoint and a café integrated into the environment. There will also be parking for almost 90 vehicles and dedicated bicycle spaces, encouraging sustainable transport. The café is planned to accommodate around 170 people and will include public toilets for park users.

Landscaping plays a central role in the design, with 537 trees to be planted alongside more than 12,000 shrubs and aromatic plants such as lavender and rosemary. Large lawn areas and shaded walkways will run through the park, creating a varied and environmentally sustainable space.

The development is expected to cost around 11.9 million euros. If the tender process stays on schedule, work could begin in May, with completion forecast for late February or March 2027.
