Spanish authorities have arrested the fifth and final suspect linked to the killing of Christian J., a thirty-year-old Swedish citizen who died in Torrevieja last October. The victim suffered fatal injuries after being dragged by a car while trying to stop thieves stealing his mobile phone.

The latest suspect, a twenty-five-year-old Spanish man of Moroccan origin, was detained in Alicante during a police identity check. After appearing before a judge, he was remanded in provisional custody without bail and is now under the jurisdiction of an investigating court in Torrevieja, which is leading the homicide and violent robbery case.

Investigators believe the man was one of four people travelling in the car used during the fatal robbery. He has denied direct involvement, saying he was seated in the back of the vehicle and did not interact with the victim. He is the brother of another suspect who handed himself in last November and was also jailed.

The case has involved joint work by the Guardia Civil in Torrevieja and the National Police in Alicante. Officers suspect the group operated as an itinerant gang, using the same method to target victims in Alicante, Benidorm and Torrevieja by distracting them before stealing their belongings.
