The Region of Murcia International Airport at Corvera has ended 2025 just short of the one million passenger mark, as rising international demand offset a decline in domestic travel. Figures released on Tuesday show 949,007 passengers used the airport during the year, an increase of 4.3 per cent compared with 2024.

International routes continued to lead the growth, with 840,115 passengers flying to and from destinations abroad, up 6.7 per cent on the previous year. Domestic travel moved in the opposite direction, falling by 6.5 per cent to 107,323 passengers, but overall numbers point to a gradual strengthening of Corvera’s role as an international gateway to the Region of Murcia.

Flight activity also increased over the year, with 7,640 aircraft movements recorded in 2025, a rise of 7 per cent. December provided a particularly strong finish, with more than 41,000 passengers passing through the airport, up just over 20 per cent on the same month in 2024.

Corvera’s performance reflects a wider trend across Spain’s airport network. Operator Aena says 2025 was a record year nationally, with more than 384 million passengers worldwide, and further investment is being planned to meet continued growth in demand.
