A driver has crashed into the perimeter wall of a home in Mazarrón, causing extensive damage and leaving the vehicle a total write off. The collision happened overnight, when the car slammed into a brick wall more than two metres high, leaving a large hole at the point of impact.
Local Police officers were called to the scene after neighbours reported hearing a loud bang. On arrival, officers checked the condition of the vehicle’s occupant and confirmed there were no serious injuries.
Police then carried out breath and drug tests on the driver, which returned positive results. As a result, officers have opened an investigation into a suspected offence of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
In addition, the driver is facing several administrative fines for traffic infringements related to the incident. The case remains under investigation by the Local Police in Mazarrón.
