The Torrevieja and District Hospitality Association has officially presented its Tenedor de Oro twenty twenty-six awards, recognising excellence across the local hospitality sector. The announcement was made at a media event held at Torrevieja Town Hall, led by the association’s president, José Ignacio Pastor Pérez.

The highest honour, the Tenedor de Oro twenty twenty-six, has been awarded to Restaurant La Mar de Bien. The association highlighted the restaurant’s strong track record, quality standards and growing influence within Torrevieja’s gastronomic scene. During two thousand and twenty-five, La Mar de Bien won the Croqueteando por Torrevieja competition, the Nos Vamos de Tapas contest with its traditional tapa, and represented the town in the Mitjor Tapeta del Mon.

The award also recognises the work of owner Daria Macan, praised for her commitment to traditional cuisine with modern touches, using high-quality local produce. The association said her dedication and passion have made La Mar de Bien a benchmark restaurant in the Vega Baja area.

Other awards included recognition for Makro, Hotel Torrejoven, Mini Golf Las Salinas, chef Ángel González Martos, and hospitality figure Tomás A. Arenas Mercader. The town’s mayor and councillor for hospitality congratulated all winners, noting the importance of the awards during the association’s fiftieth anniversary. The Tenedores de Oro gala dinner will take place on Friday the twenty-seventh of February at Torrevieja International Auditorium.
