Two people have been arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking after a National Police investigation into so-called ‘puntos negros’ of drug sales has led them to a property in the San Félix neighbourhood of Cartagena. The inquiry has identified the address as an active street-level sales point.
Residents have reported a constant flow of vehicles and people and say the site has created a strong sense of insecurity. Officers say those running the point have been using security measures, including monitoring the immediate area to warn of police presence.
With a court authorisation, police have carried out a search of the premises and have seized more than 600 grams of marijuana, more than 200 grams of hashish and a quantity of cash. The two suspects have been placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities for the adoption of precautionary measures.
