Two young people, one of whom is a minor, have been injured by gunfire in Pilar de la Horadada on Wednesday morning. The shooting took place around one forty AM, near the Jesuitas beach area, when multiple shots were fired from a moving white SUV towards a group of young people seated nearby. The assailants managed to flee the scene afterwards.

According to the Emergency Coordination Centre, medical teams from both SAMU and SVB attended to the victims on site. One victim, an eighteen-year-old, and another minor are being treated for injuries caused by what is believed to be compressed air weaponry. However, authorities later discovered that several gun casings were located at the scene, indicating the use of a firearm.

The minor is currently in intensive care at the University Hospital of Torrevieja, having sustained a serious injury under his armpit. Witnesses reported hearing cries for help immediately following the gunfire, which prompted the arrival of law enforcement and paramedics in the area.

Local authorities are actively investigating the incident, with the Judicial Police of the Guardia Civil overseeing the case. A local security meeting has been planned to enhance safety in light of the upcoming summer season, which sees a significant increase in visitors to the area, particularly from the regions of Murcia and Orihuela.
