Tragedy has unfolded in Lo Pagán, San Pedro del Pinatar, as two women succumbed to injuries following a gas explosion at Casa Javi bar. The explosion happened on the nineteenth of June and injured a total of seventeen people. The bar, which was in the process of being converted into a tea house, was busy at the time due to a weekly market nearby.

The victims were identified as the thirty-eight-year-old bar manager and a fifty-six-year-old woman who suffered a severe head injury after being caught in the explosion. The thirty-eight-year-old was the only person inside the establishment at the time of the explosion and was rushed to the Burns Unit at Virgen de la Arrixaca Hospital in Murcia.

Despite extensive medical treatment, both women could not survive their injuries and were officially pronounced dead on Thursday. Their deaths have brought sadness to the local community, which continues to grapple with the aftermath of this tragic event.
