A forty-eight-year-old British man was successfully rescued after spending the night lost in the Peñón de Ifach natural park in Calpe. Emergency services received a distress call from the hiker around midday on June nineteenth, prompting a swift response. Specialist teams, including a rescue helicopter and mountain rescue experts from the Alicante Provincial Fire Consortium, were mobilised to locate the man.

The hiker was airlifted safely just before two forty-five in the afternoon and did not require any medical attention upon his rescue. While the incident concluded positively, it highlights the need for caution when trekking in mountainous areas. The trails in parks like Peñón de Ifach can be deceptive and even seasoned hikers can easily become lost.
