Torrevieja will once again celebrate its annual carnival with a packed programme of events running from 30 January to 21 February 2026. The festivities begin with the traditional opening gala at the Municipal Theatre, featuring the official proclamation and the presentation of the Escudo de Oro.
Over the following weeks, the carnival will fill the streets with colour and music, including costume parades, neighbourhood events and activities for all ages. Highlights include the Carnival Animal event, school parades, celebrations for older residents, and the popular Quedada Carnavalera through the town centre.
One of the major attractions will be the eighteenth Drag Queen Gala at the International Auditorium, alongside the Grand Desfile Concurso, where local groups will showcase their costumes and choreography. The carnival will conclude with the National Chirigotas Competition, bringing together leading comedy singing groups from across Spain.
