The Almoradí council has launched two new mini recycling points to improve the collection of household waste that does not belong in standard containers. The new facilities are designed for selective recycling and allow residents to dispose of items that previously had no specific collection option.

The containers are already in operation in Plaza de San Andrés and Calle Canalejas. They can be used for low-energy and LED light bulbs, CDs and DVDs, batteries, mobile phone batteries, chargers, vapes, school materials such as pens and markers, and lighters. The council has stressed that these items should not be placed in conventional bins, as many contain polluting components that require special treatment.

Residents are also being reminded about the Mobile Eco Park service, which allows the safe disposal of special and hazardous household waste. This includes used oil, batteries, small electrical appliances, paints, toner cartridges, fluorescent tubes, cleaning products, textiles, small furniture and electronic equipment. The Mobile Eco Park operates every Saturday, and on alternate Thursdays, in the car park of the Venancio Costa Pavilion, between 07:30 and 15:00.

Mayor María Gómez has highlighted the council’s commitment to cleaner and more sustainable waste management, and has called for public cooperation, saying responsible use of these services is essential to keeping Almoradí clean and well organised.
