Torrevieja Council has approved the awarding of two contracts aimed at improving the energy efficiency of public street lighting across the municipality. The decision was confirmed by the councillor responsible for public lighting, Concha Sala, following a simplified open tender process.

The project will see a total of 543 existing lights replaced with modern LED luminaires, which are more efficient and better suited to current energy-saving and consumption control standards. Both contracts have been awarded to the company Iluminaciones Futuras de LED, S.L., for a combined cost of 283,745 euros, including VAT, with a completion period of three months from the formal start of works.

One contract covers Nueva Torrevieja, where 321 lights will be replaced and circuits extended, at a cost of 165,770 euros, with project oversight by Vielca Ingenieros. The second focuses on the CV-905 and other streets, replacing 222 lights for 117,975 euros, with supervision by Inurbe Ingeniería. The upgrades will also include point-to-point remote management and an extended five-year luminaire warranty.
