Los Montesinos has opened a new covered sports hall, providing the town with its first indoor sporting facilities. The project was promoted by Alicante Provincial Council and Los Montesinos Town Hall, with a total investment of 1.188 million euros. Provincial funding covered 80 per cent of the cost, with the remainder paid by the council. The building was opened to the public after works finished at the end of 2025.

Infrastructure deputy Antonio Bernabeu visited the town alongside mayor José Manuel Butrón to view the new facilities and review other ongoing projects. Bernabeu said the pavilion significantly expands local sporting options and confirmed that future phases are planned to complete the building and improve the surrounding area. Upcoming Planifica projects include a new municipal library and major improvements to Avenida del Mar and nearby streets.

Bernabeu later visited Rojales with mayor Antonio Pérez to inspect the refurbishment of the Capitol Theatre. The project, with a budget close to 1.2 million euros and funded almost equally by the council and the province, is in its final stages. Work has been briefly paused to address a structural issue in the roof, but the theatre, originally built in the 1940s, is expected to reopen later this year.
