The official vehicle assigned to Torrevieja’s mayoral office has received another traffic fine, the third known sanction involving the car in the past three years. The latest offence was recorded on 6 November 2025, when the Skoda Superb was detected speeding on the A-31 motorway near Xàtiva, in the province of Valencia, where the limit is 120 kilometres per hour.

The infringement is classified as minor and carries a fine of 50 euros, reduced with early payment, which has been authorised. Officials handling the case have issued a written warning reminding the driver that anyone using a municipal vehicle must strictly comply with traffic and road safety regulations.

The same vehicle has previously been fined on two other occasions. In September 2023 it was penalised in Alicante for driving in a bus and taxi lane, a very serious offence under local regulations, with the council paying 180 euros after the driver was not identified. In July 2024, it was again caught speeding in Torrevieja, resulting in another minor fine.

The Skoda Superb is assigned to the mayoral area but is also available for official use by councillors and staff. Torrevieja Town Hall has confirmed that traffic penalties involving municipal vehicles are paid according to established procedures.
