The Guardia Civil in the Region of Murcia has dismantled a criminal group involved in the large-scale illegal cultivation of cannabis in the municipality of Torre Pacheco. The operation, known as Grumbu, focused on a property in the Roldán district that had been converted into a fully equipped indoor marijuana farm.

During a search of the house and its outbuildings, officers seized more than 1,500 marijuana plants at various stages of growth and drying, as well as around 500 grams of cannabis buds. Police also confiscated lighting, heating, irrigation and ventilation systems used for cultivation, along with equipment for drying, processing and packaging the drug.

The investigation began in 2025 after officers received information pointing to illicit drug production in the area. Surveillance revealed high-level security measures at the property. Three people believed to be running the operation were arrested on suspicion of belonging to a criminal group, cultivating and producing drugs, and defrauding electricity through an illegal connection to the power grid.
