A seventy-one-year-old man has been left with minor injuries after being hit by a car on Urbano Arregui Street in Torrevieja on Friday afternoon. The emergency services were called to the scene at 15:50, according to the Valencian Community’s Emergency Coordination Centre.

Local Police sources said the man, a Spanish national, was walking with a dog on a harness close to a pedestrian crossing when the collision occurred. It is believed the dog may have pulled towards the road, while the driver told officers that glare from the sun affected visibility. There were no independent witnesses, and the exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.

A unit from the regional emergency medical service attended and treated the pedestrian for multiple bruises and a head injury. He was later taken to Torrevieja Hospital in an advanced life support ambulance. Municipal sources have confirmed that his injuries are not serious, and the dog was not harmed and had all documentation in order.
