Three men have been arrested following a police chase after electric scooters were stolen from Zenia Boulevard shopping centre in Orihuela Costa. The incident began when on-site security staff spotted the theft and immediately alerted the Local Police, providing descriptions of the suspects and their vehicle.

Officers quickly located the car as it left the La Zenia area and gave chase along the N-332. The vehicle was eventually intercepted in Campoamor. One of the occupants attempted to escape on foot, prompting a short pursuit by an officer, which ended with the suspect being detained until backup arrived.

Police later confirmed that the car used in the theft had itself been reported stolen the previous day in La Vila. The three detainees, who were not carrying identification, are Algerian nationals aged thirty-five, and between eighteen and twenty-five.

The arrests come just days after a separate attempted scooter theft at the same shopping centre, when two nineteen-year-old twins were caught on CCTV trying to force locks. That earlier attempt was also foiled following a rapid response by Local Police.
