The Port Authority of Cartagena has launched a public tender for the fourth phase of works to remodel the city’s maritime frontage. The new phase centres on the promenade providing access to the cruise terminal, an area seen as key to improving the connection between the port and the urban centre.
The scheme forms part of the wider ‘From Lighthouse to Lighthouse’ project, which is being developed jointly with Cartagena City Council. The initiative aims to transform the waterfront into a more welcoming, accessible and people-focused space, encouraging greater use by residents and visitors.
According to the Port Authority, the project aligns with the broader strategy set by Puertos del Estado to integrate ports more closely with their surrounding cities. The latest phase is intended to strengthen Cartagena’s seafront as a shared space, balancing port activity with public access and urban life.
