Prosecutors have requested a prison sentence of eight years for a man accused of a crime against public health through drug trafficking, with the aggravating factor of reoffending. The case has been heard at the Provincial Court in Elche.
According to the prosecution, the defendant acted as the supplier of narcotics to another individual who has already been convicted for the same offences. The drugs were allegedly sold on and stored by that individual at his home in the town of Rojales, as well as in several lockers at a gym in AlmoradÃ.
The defendant did not attend the court hearing, which went ahead in his absence. He was detained by security forces a short time later.
The trial was held yesterday by the Seventh Section of the Provincial Court, based in Elche, after proceedings began at nine thirty in the morning.
