Pilar de la Horadada Council has announced an investment of 565,767 euros to upgrade and improve four sports and recreational areas across the municipality. The funding comes from the PLAN PLANIFICA provincial cooperation programme for municipal works and services, covering the period 2024 to 2027, and is provided by Alicante Provincial Council.

In Pinar de Campoverde, two new padel courts will be built on the existing multi-sport pitch on Calle Tejo. At Las Villas, on Calle Mar Báltico, the two existing multi-sport courts will be refurbished. Torre de la Horadada will see the construction of a new parkour course and a skatepark on Avenida del Velero.

Further works are planned in Río Mar, Mil Palmeras, where the multi-sport court and two tennis courts will be refurbished, along with the construction of two new padel courts on the current polyvalent pitch. The project also includes optional improvements, subject to contractor bids.

These include a new free-use recreational play area at the Municipal Sports Centre, with mini basketball, volleyball courts and children’s play equipment, as well as a gerontogymnastics area in Torre de la Horadada featuring a rehabilitation circuit designed for older residents.
