Emergency services have confirmed the death of a man aged between 45 and 50 after he was found in the street with signs of asphyxiation in San Pedro del Pinatar, in the Region of Murcia.
The incident happened on Saturday, 10 January, when the emergency coordination centre 112 received a call at 12.04 pm reporting a man lying face down on Calle Gabriel Cañadas. The caller said the man was bleeding from the nose, showing signs of asphyxiation and beginning to turn blue.
A Local Police patrol and a mobile emergency unit from the 061 health service were sent to the scene. When officers arrived, the man was already in cardiorespiratory arrest, and they immediately began cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Despite their efforts, medical staff were only able to confirm his death on arrival. The Guardia Civil has been notified and has taken charge of the judicial investigation to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
