Torrevieja has hosted one of the most significant moments of its patronal festivities with the celebration of the Magna Offering of Flowers to the Purísima Concepción. More than 4,000 people formed a river of participants that processed along Calle Caballero de Rodas after assembling in Plaza de Oriente. Ninety-five local associations and representatives of international resident collectives from Romania, Poland, the United Kingdom and Hispanic America filled the streets with colour and devotion.

Music has again played a central role, with the traditional Entrada de las Bandas around Plaza de la Constitución. Seven musical formations have accompanied the procession, while the first charamita returned to the programme with Lily, the Lobo and the Ogro, setting off from the old Town Hall. Giants and cabezudos led an animated cortege that delighted children and adults alike.

The youth of the Parroquia de la Inmaculada have also had a prominent part through the traditional Línea de Monedas under the slogan “Una Navidad compartida”. All proceeds from the collection have been handed to Cáritas Parroquial, reinforcing the charitable spirit that accompanies Torrevieja’s patronal celebrations.
