Torrevieja’s Local Police has reported a coordinated operation with the Civil Guard on Tuesday targeting illegal street vending along the seafront. The operation involved 30 officers — 17 from the Civil Guard and 13 from the Local Police — and led to the seizure of 24 bundles of merchandise that police have determined to be counterfeit, amounting to hundreds of kilos.

Items recovered include imitation football kits, tracksuits, trainers, caps, belts, bags and three hand trolleys. The seized material is being held in police custody pending destruction. The council published images of the deployment on social media and had said it would provide further details the following day.

The operation formed part of an ongoing effort to combat unfair competition and the circulation of falsified goods on the Juan Aparicio promenade and at Playa del Cura. Authorities say patrols have been constant through the summer and fines have been imposed on many unlicensed sellers, while there is no record of buyers being fined. The town hall has thanked the Guardia Civil for the joint work and has reiterated its commitment to protecting consumers and legal commerce.
