The Civil Guard based in Dolores and the Albatera local police have detained three people on suspicion of drug trafficking after stopping a car on the CV-909 in Albatera at 20:20 on 26 October. During a joint identity check officers became suspicious of the three occupants and conducted a thorough search, locating drugs hidden in their clothing and several banknotes.

Among the items seized was a rock of cocaine weighing 53.3 grams with a high degree of purity, which was being carried under the clothing of a pregnant woman. Officers also recovered a ball of hashish, a cannabis cigarette, around €150 in cash, a mobile phone and the vehicle used in the alleged offence. One of the men resisted arrest, injuring two officers and biting one of them during the struggle.

The suspects, two men aged 27 and 37 and a 44-year-old woman, were taken to the station while the woman was taken to a medical centre so appropriate health measures could be taken for her and the foetus. They have been placed at the disposal of Investigating Court number two in Orihuela, which has ordered their release with charges.
