National Police in Cartagena have opened an investigation after two people were shot in the Lo Campano neighbourhood. A twenty-year-old man and a thirty-seven-year-old woman have reported they were shot after going to recover a debt. The male victim filed a complaint on 8 November saying the shooting occurred the previous night. At the station they identified a person they believe took part in the attack.

According to their statements, the three had met at a gaming salon in Los Narejos and travelled to Lo Campano to demand repayment. The woman had lent the debtor €4,000 and said she had only been repaid €500; he had allegedly promised to return between €200 and €500. The group waited at a nearby petrol station and at 00:26 the debtor sent a photograph of banknotes, after which they returned to the agreed place.

The man approached the car, showed the cash, produced a pistol and began shooting. The woman said she heard between twenty-five and thirty shots; the vehicle was riddled with bullets. She suffered a gunshot wound to her right leg and the man received a graze to the head; they drove to Santa Lucía hospital for treatment. Officers from the Local Judicial Brigade are investigating and seeking the alleged gunmen, described as two armed men, one stocky with a black beard and the other carrying a shortened shotgun.
