Benidorm is set to open an additional one hundred fifty indoor parking spaces near its famous Old Town starting July first. This expansion will make a total of three hundred fifty parking spaces available for public use. The existing two hundred surface-level spaces have been accessible for some time, but now visitors will also benefit from the extra indoor capacity.

Councillor for Mobility Francis Muñoz announced that the interior spaces will be open from nine am to midnight to meet the increased demand during the busy summer months. All the parking spaces will remain free to use throughout July and August.

The local City Council has also indicated plans to tender the management of the parking facility, similar to the successful L’Aigüera parking model, which involves private management of maintenance and operational services while keeping the facility publicly owned. This approach aims to enhance service quality for residents, tourists, and visitors.

The Local Government Board has approved the initial contract for the Poniente parking lot, which will amount to just over seventy two thousand euros across a period of two years. With this expansion, Benidorm anticipates better accommodation for the influx of tourists expected this summer.
