The blast occurred around midday, coinciding with the area’s weekly market, heightening the severity of the incident. Two women sustained serious burns and remain in critical condition, but their lives are not in danger, according to hospital reports.

Authorities, including the Mayor of San Pedro del Pinatar, have confirmed that of the injured, some were employees of market stalls and customers. Several people received immediate medical attention for serious and minor injuries, with emergency teams arriving shortly after the explosion.
