Orihuela Council has prepared a new park-and-ride car park next to La Glea beach in Orihuela Costa, providing space for 205 vehicles. The measure is designed to make parking easier during the busy summer season and to reduce congestion in one of the most popular areas of the coastline.

The works have been promoted by the Departments of Infrastructure and Coast and carried out by the public company Ecoplan. Of the 205 spaces, six are reserved for people with reduced mobility, in line with current regulations. The layout includes 45-degree angled bays, with a single entrance and exit to improve traffic flow and make better use of the available space.

The project also includes a dedicated area for coach parking, along with new signage and safety features to organise traffic within the site.

Infrastructure councillor Víctor Valverde said the council is continuing to improve facilities in Orihuela Costa in response to the needs of residents and visitors. Mayor Pepe Vegara added that such measures are essential to enhance services during peak months and to promote more orderly and convenient mobility along the coast.
