Rojales Town Hall has received and reviewed the public consultation documents for the new CV-213 La Vega Baja–Alicante public bus service, which outlines 16 routes to be introduced across the region this year.

The project aims to improve daily connections between municipalities and provide better access to essential services, including Torrevieja and Orihuela hospitals. Rojales will be included in six of the 16 routes, with stops in both the town centre and Ciudad Quesada. Destinations will include Orihuela, Guardamar, Alicante, Elche, Almoradí and Alicante-Elche Airport.

Two of the most anticipated routes are Line 8, linking Almoradí with Torrevieja Hospital via several Vega Baja towns, and Line 9, connecting Catral with Torrevieja Hospital through Albatera, Rafal, Orihuela Hospital, Rojales and Ciudad Quesada. Service frequency and timetables have yet to be confirmed.

During its review, the council identified the absence of a stop in Ciudad Quesada on the airport route. It has now submitted a formal request to the Generalitat Valenciana to include at least one stop there, arguing that the area’s large residential and tourist population requires a direct airport connection. A response is now awaited.
