Escape to the 80's TKO Radio
Up to 24 migrants have been rescued after a small boat was intercepted off the coast of Cartagena on Wednesday afternoon. The operation was carried out by the Guardia Civil’s maritime service.
According to the Delegation of the Government, 24 people were travelling on board the vessel, including two minors. All of the passengers were reported to be in good health following the rescue.
The group was brought safely to shore, where they were met by volunteers from the Spanish Red Cross. The charity is providing humanitarian assistance, including medical checks and basic support.
Authorities have not released further details about the migrants’ nationalities or their point of departure. An investigation into the journey is under way.
