Around twenty neighbourhood and social organisations have taken part in a march in Los Nietos in defence of the Mar Menor.
The demonstration was held on Saturday and brought together representatives from groups including Ecologistas en Acción, the Los Nietos Residents’ Association, Plataforma Stop Biogás, Pacto por el Mar Menor, Yayoflautas, SOS Mar Menor, Fundación Sierra Minera, Mar Menor de los Niños and Greenpeace.
Organisers said the aim of the march was to defend the rights of the Mar Menor and to draw attention to ongoing environmental concerns affecting the lagoon in the Region of Murcia. Participants called for stronger protection measures and continued public awareness of the situation.
